The finish is typically either anodized or epoxy coat. These systems are commonly used because they do not generate particles, have very low outgassing characteristics, and are easy to reconfigure. Such systems are well suited for the bulk heading of process tools and utilities connections. The drawbacks are initial costs and limited structural characteristics. Occasionally in less precise applications the "stick-built" wall systems are used. These wall systems are constructed of metal studs and metal faced drywall finished with epoxy coating.
