Flash Memory Testing Flash memory technology is a mix of EPROM (erasable programmable read-only memory) and EEPROM (electrical EPROM) technologies. The term flash was chosen because a large chunk of memory could be erased at one time. The name, therefore, distinguishes flash devices from EEPROMs, where each byte is erased individually. Now-a-days, flash memory technology is a mature technology. It is a strong competitor to other nonvolatile memories such as EPROMs and EEPROMs, and to DRAM applications.
