Linear Device Testing Linear devices are those class of devices that produce a continuous time varying output for a corresponding input. Unlike digital devices, they have an infinite number of states. Examples of linear devices are voltage regulators, operational amplifiers, and analog switches. Testing of linear devices originated from logic testing. The linear device test methods were developed from the application of digital testers to operational amplifiers (OPAMPs). The digital tester used a linear test adapter to test the voltage and currents involved in OPAMP testing.
