ATE HISTORYFor the first two decades of the industry, semiconductor manufacturers custom-built most of their own tools and equipment in-house (Fig. 21.3). In the early 1960s, Fairchild Semiconductor, Signetics, Texas Instruments, and others began to sell their specialized semiconductor test equipment to their customers and competitors.
