GENERAL Revenue and check meters are used to measure electricity consumption. A revenue meter is installed by the local power company at the supply point to a customer, to record electricity consumption and bill the customer. The rates used for billing are called "tariff." The revenue meter takes current and voltage as the input and measures one or more of the following quantities depending upon the tariff agreed: – Energy (kWh) – Power (kVA) – Active power (kW)
