Although a temporary electrical system does not have to be made up with the detail and relative permanence that characterizes a so-called permanent wiring system, the specific rules of this article cover the only permissible ways in which a temporary wiring system may differ from a permanent system. Aside from the given permissions for variation from rules on permanent wiring, all temporary systems are required to comply in all other respects with Code rules covering permanent wiring (Fig. 590-1).
