ARTICLE 215. FEEDERS215.1. Scope.Feeders are the conductors that carry electric power from the service equipment (or generator switchboard, where power is generated on the premises) to the overcurrent protective devices for branch circuits supplying the various loads. Subfeeders originate at a distribution center other than the service equipment or generator switchboard and supply one or more other distribution panelboards, branch-circuit panelboards, or branch circuits. Code rules on feeders apply also to all subfeeders for the simple reason that all subfeeders meet the definition of a feeder, and for this reason the NEC does not recognize the term (
