Introduction In this chapter, some basic concepts of power networks for single- and three-phase circuits as well as the notation, terminology, and the per-unit system, to be used in the subsequent chapters, are described. Moreover, symmetrical components for analysis of unbalanced three-phase power systems are introduced.
