Thermocouple Temperature Indicators Thermocouple temperature indicators are used most frequently when it is necessary to measure comparatively high temperatures. They are used to measure cylinder head temperature in aircraft with reciprocating engines and tailpipe or exhaust temperature in aircraft with jet engines.
