LEAD-ACID BATTERY MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
Precautions Follow these precautions when servicing aircraft batteries: Always wear safety glasses. Remove the negative lead first and install it last when disconnecting a battery. Do not cause a short circuit between the battery terminals. Be cautious of jewelry and watches. Some are good conductors and may short-circuit the battery, causing severe injury to the technician. Never service the batteries near an open flame or sparks.
